Moonbeans Coffee Roaster

Moonbeans originated in Vancouver BC in 1994. It was our intent to spread the name Moonbeans by way of mobile Espresso Carts strategically throughout the city.

Vancouver City Hall quickly put an end to this by only allowing them in Richmond.

We shifted our thoughts to creating a cafe that not only housed our roasting industry but also gave a warm comfortable place where people could meet for great food and freshly roasted coffee.

Due to the overwhelming demands of running 2 businesses and the growing interest for our roasted coffee in other cafes and offices, it was our decision to sell the cafe and concentrate solely on perfecting our Coffee Roasting and Blends.

In 2003 we moved our Roasting facilities to their final home. Located in the Gulf Islands is the most beautiful of the local islands - Pender.

As a Roaster there are two things I am most proud of. We have given Pender Island something thing to call their own and be proud of! A product that is made here and distributed around the world. Secondly, throughout our industry Coffee Roasters are predominately men. I am proud to say that I am one of a handful of Female Coffee Roasters!

We take great pride in knowing that we only roast the finest quality green beans from around the world. We slowly roast them consistently to exact specifications, believing that freshness is the MAJOR factor in every cup of specialty coffee.
